Info-trip through the DKMT-Euroregion, route for wine and gastronomy
The village of Petrovaselo is certainly one of the most picturesque ones of the Timis county (northern part of the Banat region). No asphalted road brings you here (but the 3 kilometres from the main road E70 are just fine), and the village is surrounded by lovely hills. Perhaps the relative isolation had lead to the preservation of the traditional features of the village: on the main street we see a row of houses with narrow front-sides (and triangular frontons) topped by a church with the "Baroque onion" on its tower. Petrovaselo was once inhabited mainly by Serbians, they still make out today about the half of the village's population. There is nothing spectacular about the village (for the future we might inspect the surrounding oak forests and pastures for wild orchids...), but the future wines could easily change this state and encourage some "light", eco-friendly tourism in Petrovaselo.
