High season for city tours in Timisoara
Already the first days of March brought the warm weather we've been long yearning after – the temperatures surpassed the 20 degrees Celsius. The Union Square (in Romanian it is "Piaţa Unirii", but the old name was "Dome Square" / "Domplatz"), which was still completely coverd by snow a few days ago, is now showing only restovers of the former white layer. On the northern side of the square (meaning, the side which receives most sunlight) the first terraces and coffee-houses opened, just in front of the venerable "Domherrenhäuser" (former houses of the dome-church capitulars). The weather stayed good till the end of the month, there was no cold wave in March.
The weather is wonderful, und so is the Baroque outlook of the Union Square. Still, at the beginning of March, we made only a few city tours, the number of tourists remained fairly low; but this was about to change, soon. So we enjoyed the last days of "vacation", just before the big wave of city tours.
